ECGRA Invests Over $275,000 in Erie 250 Celebrations
The Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA) announced today the awarding of $151,500 towards recipients of the rolling Erie 250 Grant and $125,000 for an Erie County Concert Challenge Grant. The $125,000 investment is being awarded to Erie Events for a concert as part of the America 250PA concert series. Erie 250 celebrations and programs are crucial towards continuing Erie's momentum as a growing county.
"ECGRA investments can be seen at all levels of the community, from manufacturing, the arts, events that give Erie its distinct identity and now to the celebrations of America's 250th birthday in Erie. Investing in these celebrations is a once-in-a-generation opportunity," said ECGRA Exectuive Director Perry Wood.
"Additionally, we're investing $125,000 in a flagship concert for Erie 250. This concert will be the driving event behind Erie 250," said Wood.
Specific concert details, including performers and location, will be announced closer in the coming weeks.
"We're thankful for ECGRA's investment in Erie 250, specifically the exciting programs we have, but the fundraising isn't over yet. $125,000 for the Erie 250 concert remains to be raised and ECGRA is challenging the Erie community to reach that amount," said Erie Events Executive Director Gus Pine. "This concert stands to be historic and part of a generational opportunity for Erie County," said Pine.
ECGRA, in coordination with Erie County, introduced the special Erie 250 Grant program earlier this year. The grant is created to support high-quality programs, events, and initiatives that commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The program is intended to foster civic pride, historical reflection, cultural expression, and broad public partnership across Erie County throughout calendar year 2026.
